The typical graduate of this doctoral programme has a sound knowledge and understanding of pedagogically oriented applied linguistics (educational linguistics) in all its aspects and in the philology of the chosen specific language; is capable of independent creative scientific thought within this transdisciplinary, problem-oriented field of science; and is capable of applying acquired knowledge in the search for solutions to theoretical questions related to the field, and of designing and implementing rationally and theoretically grounded solutions to practical problems within language education and related areas.
