Profiles

Graduates of the Master's degree programme in Middle Eastern Studies have advanced proficiency in one of the languages of the region (Arabic, Persian, Turkish or Modern Hebrew) or are able to work independently with sources in this language. They have a thorough knowledge of the political and cultural history of the Middle East and North Africa as well as of the major approaches to their academic study.

They have mastered the relevant secondary literature and have excellent skills in academic English. They have a profound understanding of Middle-Eastern cultures, their diversity resulting from historical transformations, as well as their mutual relationship with European culture.
