Graduates of the Bachelor’s degree programme in Middle Eastern Studies, with a specialization in Arabic Studies, are specialists on the history and culture of the Middle East with an emphasis on the Arab countries. They have a good practical knowledge of Arabic: speaking and writing skills in Arabic at B1 level; moreover, they have a basic knowledge of another language of the region.
They have a good general knowledge of the history of the region and of the major approaches to its study. They have the ability to work with secondary literature including electronic resources in English.
They can explain the current geo-political situation in the region from a historical perspective. They are aware of the specifics of the local cultures and values and can interpret them in relation to European culture.
