Graduates of the Bachelor’s degree programme in Middle Eastern Studies, with a specialization in Iranian Studies, are specialists on the history and culture of the Middle East with an emphasis on Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan. They have a good practical knowledge of Persian: speaking and writing skills in Persian at B1 level; moreover, they have a basic knowledge of another language of the region.
They have a good general knowledge of the history of the region and of the major approaches to its study. They have the ability to work with secondary literature including electronic resources in English.
They can explain the current geo-political situation in the region from a historical perspective. They are aware of the specifics of the local cultures and values and can interpret them in relation to European culture.
