Graduates of the Bachelor's degree programme in Middle Eastern Studies are experts on the history, politics and culture of the Middle East. They have a good practical knowledge of a major Middle Eastern language: speaking and writing skills in the standard variety of the language at B1 level; moreover, they have a basic knowledge of another language of the region.
They have a good general knowledge of the region’s history and major approaches to its study. They are prepared to work with secondary literature including electronic resources in English.
They are equipped to explain the current geopolitical situation in the region from historical and political perspectives. Graduates are aware of the specifics of the local cultures and values, and are equipped to interpret them in relation to European culture.
