Graduates have solid writing and speaking skills in the modern standard Indonesian language, and skills in community interpreting. They have a deep understanding of the language structure and its use in the everyday life of various social groups.
Furthermore, they have a grounding in Indonesian literature, history and culture that they can place into a broader cultural-historical context of the region. Their methodological competence enables them to analyse contemporary social phenomena related to local societies, and to use this knowledge when establishing business or cultural contacts.
They are able to explore ethnic problems at applied level, using field research in contact professions.
