Profiles

Graduates are conversant with both literary and colloquial Tibetan and have an elementary knowledge of Sanskrit. They are capable of talking about common topics in the Lhasa dialect of Tibetan and translating easier texts written in literary Tibetan.

Furthermore, graduates have a grounding in Tibetan religions, history and literature and are prepared for independent critical work with primary and secondary sources. Graduates are qualified for positions in state administration, humanitarian organizations, museums, and the media.
