Graduates are conversant with research theory and methodology in their area of interest, and have speaking and writing skills in modern Vietnamese. They have a grounding in Vietnamese history, literature, and society, including issues related to the Vietnamese diaspora, in the cultural and historical context of the region.

They are acquainted with the principles of critical academic work and are able to independently acquire, process and communicate information from Asia, especially South East Asia. Graduates can seek careers in culture, education, social work, media, state administration and commerce; alternatively, they are prepared to continue with tertiary education in a diversity of postgraduate programmes at Charles University’s Faculty of Arts.
