Graduates of the bachelor’s programme in General Linguistics have a solid understanding of the main aspects of verbal communication. They understand the nature and breadth of the field, including both the main domains of linguistic analysis and their interdisciplinary aspects, and are equipped with basic skills required in present-day linguistic research.
Graduates gain a solid grounding in the sound patterns of language, from speech production and perception to acoustic properties of the speech signal to principles of the phonological description at the segmental and prosodic levels. Moreover, they develop skills for acoustic analyses of speech, as well as for analytical and holistic auditory assessment.
