Graduates possess advanced knowledge in general branches of physics, in particular in continuum mechanics, thermodynamics, and electromagnetic and gravity fields, and deep knowledge and practical skills in the main geophysical disciplines. They are able to independently solve the basic problems in the field of earthquake source and seismic wave propagation, analyze and interpret phenomena observed in the electromagnetic and gravitational field of the Earth and planets, and perform computer simulations of thermal evolution and deformation of planetary bodies using advanced methods of continuum mechanics.

They solve these problems using the methods of mathematical modeling and computer physics that they have learned. After they have solved these problems, they are able to clearly present their results in standard scientific form.
