Graduates of Protistology at Charles University are experts in diversity, ecology, and the evolutionary history of protist microorganisms. They have acquired thorough knowledge of various microscopic and experimental biological methods (i.e., observation, cultivation, and molecular analyses).
They can to analyze molecular data, perform phylogenetic analyses, and study the diversity of protists. Graduates cal also routinely isolate and cultivate protists obtained from the nature.
Their skills include advanced microscopic methods, such as confocal and electron microscopy. Graduates are well positioned to either continue their scientific careers in Ph.D. programs or pursue employment in industries related to biotechnology, public health, water management, food industry, or ecotoxicology.
