Single molecule bridge as a testing ground for using NGF outside of the steady current regime

Abstract

For a standard model of molecular bridge, the non-equilibrium electron Green´s function describing fast transients is obtained using the method of time partitioning. The correlated initial condition at a finite inital time is fully incorporated.

The transients are induced by a sequence of independent sudden switching on/off of each of the contacts to the leads.
