Abstract

The study compares HPLC determination of 2-aminobiphenyl, 3-aminobiphenyl, and 4-aminobiphenyl using amperometric detection at a microcrystalline boron-doped diamond film electrode in thin-layer and wall-jet arrangement. Satisfactory separation of studied analytes was achieved at a ChiraDex column (Merck) with chemically bonded β-cyclodextrin in mobile phase consisting of 0.01 mol L–1 acetate buffer, pH 5 : acetonitrile : methanol (40:30:30; v/v/v) with total analysis time of six minutes.

The repeatabilities of the detector responses are satisfactory. Slightly wider linear dynamic range of calibration dependencies and lower detection limits in the 10–8 mol L–1 concentration range were achieved for the walljet arrangement.
