Abstract
The latest developments of contemporary languages are characterized by a universal tendency towards an internationalization of their vocabulary. This paper confirms that tendency by word-formation types of internationalisms (mainly of English origin) that are typical of modern Czech.
Particular attention is paid to compositional and abbreviational word formation. Mention is also made of some theoretical concepts, definitions and designations of features typical of internationalization.
The author's analysis confirms the strengthening of analytical aspects and the resulting strengthening of the tendency towards a weakening of loss of inflexion. The paper points out certain connections between the typology of a language and its openness to the influence of foreign languages.
