Voltammetric determination of 5-Nitroquinoline at a carbon film electrode

Publication at Faculty of Science |
2010

Abstract

The nontraditional carbon film electrode was developed as an alternative to carbon screen printed electrode. Thanks to the wide potential window of carbon material, cathodic reduction for determination can be used and the electrode can be a nontoxic alternative even to mercury electrodes.

In this contribution, DC and DP voltammetry were used for the determination of 5-nitroquinoline using carbon film electrode. Methods were optimized and repeatability of measurement was tested.

Calibration dependences in the concentration range 2·10–7 – 1·10–4 mol.L–1 were measured and the lowest achieved limit of quantitation was 5·10–7 mol.L–1 using DPV method.
