Abstract
Based on the critical analysis of the light installations by six foreign artists in the Prague public space as part of Transparency project the article reflects the possibilities and risks of this kind of arts. The article reminds of the importance of the invention of ready-made mechanism, which emphasized sign existence of art and its conditionality by viewer's activities.
Art functioning in the public space brings a new problem - how to start to appreciate a piece of art. One more difference has been caused by frequented connection of the visual art with a text.
Ligh art in our country has been also reminded.
