Abstract
This issue contains a selection of papers presented at the 5th Discussion Meeting on the Development of Innovative Iron Aluminium Alloys FEAL 2009 organised by the Department of Physics of Materials of the Charles University in Prague in cooperation with the Metals Science Society of Czech Republic. The main aim of the meeting was to provide a forum to present and discuss the current status of the research and development of iron aluminides.
The topics of the FEAL 2009 included: • High temperature mechanical properties • Structure of the aluminides • Processing and joining • Environmental resistance and oxidation • Constitution, phase transformations • Fundamental aspects (properties).
