"Click" chemistry as a powerful tool for post-polymerizaton modifikation of substituted polyacetylenes

Abstract

We report on the transformation of several statistical copolymers of 1-(4-t-butylphenyl)-2-(4-chlorobut 1-yl)acetylene and 1-phenyl-2-butylacetylene via "click" chemistry aimed at the preparation of disubstituted polyacetylenes with pendant groups containing chromophoric moietis. The type and the amount of the attached chromophore allow tuning the photophysical properties of the resulting polymers.

Selected chromophores are various terminal triple-bond substituted chemical moietis derived from naphtalimide, perylene and anthracene.
