Microprocessor control dual-channel process hazemeter-photometer in a turbidimetric mode for on-line measurement of mash lautering - filtration having low sensitivity to colour changes, special signal averaging and smoothing - research, development and realization

Abstract

Process photometer for on-line measurement of turbidity was developed and created. Senzor photometric unit is made from stainless steel and can be installed in the pipeline through aseptic fitting Tuchenhagen VARIVENT.

Microprocessor electronic unit is in a plastic box having closure IP65. Photometer can be used for the lautering process control.

Photometer can be successfully used in a brewing house for monitoring and controlling of mash lautering process. Appropriate light band used at light source diminishes the photometr`s sensitivity to colour changes of the sample.

Monitoring of light source changes brings about excellent long term stability. Special algorithm of noise filtration and data smoothing improves data records of the process course for control and subsequent evaluation.
