Abstract

The paper deals with the key problems of nowadays learning object repositories: interoperability on both national and international level, effective and efficient search with respect to real user's needs, sustainability and future development after cutoff financial support and other 'illnesses' of the existing learning object repositories. As an example of national effort on this field, and concrete model of possible solution, the authors (and main developers) present TELMAE Educational Portal and Learning Object Repository developed and provided by Charles University in Prague, that have been offered to the community of science teachers, educators and students in the Czech Republic since 2001.

Learning object repository on Telmae EduPort offers not only its own objects but also an access to learning objects, collected by 6 Czech universities, participating in the project, and many other tools and services, serving to large community of teachers.
