Monitoring of dust conveyor drum bearing vibration spectrum

Abstract

We developed a diagnostic device that can be cheaply incorporated into drums in order to measure their vibration characteristics continuously, to monitor their time development, and to forecast possible breaks of bearings. Vibration measurement is based on a Kionix accelerometer.

Fast Fourier transformation performed by an industrial PC presents a frequency spectrum from 10-1 Hz to 103 Hz. A prototype of the device was tested during operations at the mine Nástup Tušimice and the results were compared with simultaneous measurements performed by commercial mobile equipment.

This paper analyses vibration spectrum of a dust conveyer drum.
