Abstract
In attempts to analyse the relations between the voters of the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia and of the Czech Social Democratic Party and to describe its fundamental traits, we cannot avoid explorations of the characteristics of the contemporary Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia. Whereas the Czech Social Democratic Party became a more or less standard political party of the social democratic type similar to other parties in Europe, the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia represents a unique exception; therefore, it is important to address it at length.
This article analyses particularly the differences and similarities in the voter profile of the Czech Social Democratic Party and the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia, examines the possibility of transfer of voters between these political parties and suggests potential future strategies of the Czech Social Democratic Party against the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia.
