The aim of the study is to provide theoretical insight into problem of EMG processing and evaluation. The starting point is time-series analysis and its application on example of discrete EMG record.
As a result of unsuitable defined terms such as auto-correlation and cross-correlation, changes in their computation had to be introduced. Such designed terms produce better results in EMG evaluation.
Method was verified on example of walking at healthy young man. The effect of specific therapy on movement was investigated simultaneously.
Time-series analysis was used for EMG evaluation and the impact of therapy. Analysis of auto-correlation curves was used in investigation of changes in movement stereotype.
Specific shape of autocorrelation curves before and after therapy indicated fundamental influence of therapy on movement pattern. Other supporting instruments were changes in timing of inter-muscular coordination.
Possibilities of therapy application are subject of future research.
