Electronic games – the effective means of chemical education

Publication at Faculty of Science |
2010

Abstract

The role of electronic resources in science education has been recently significantly increased. Our goal is to make the subject matter of chemistry more understandable and popular by creating electronic games.

Educational chemical games are particularly useful for increasing and consolidation knowledge in chemistry, but they also served to students as validation of their skills and they can energize them. A lot of the electronic games which we have created have been used by teachers for pupils´ motivation and for verifying acquired knowledge.

We have verified that appropriate and sufficient pupils´motivation through the use of information technologies and didactic technics can lead to better working efficiency, greater autonomy, creativity, and thus to development of information and students´scientific literacy. In this paper there are presented newly developed electronic games suitable for a computer, projector or interactive whiteboard in chemistry at grammar school.
