Allegoria, a macaronic poem by Jan Florian Hammerschmied: a curious history of a literary curiosum

Abstract

The paper deals with a poem "Allegoria. Protheus felicitatis et miseriae Czechicae, satyra" (1715) by Jan Florian Hammerschmid, a Baroque historian.

It analyses a genesis of the text, its metric structure, and history of the text in the next centuries, concluding with a new edition of the original version of Hammerschmid's poem.
