Abstract
The article is focused on the establishment of the local government in the Republic of Macedonia. It contains a brief description of the country and its political development with a focus on the establishment of the local government on the basis of the Ohrid Framework Agreement and Law on Local Government.
The results of municipal elections taking place in 2005 and 2009 are being discussed, too.
