This study deals with Josef Nestaval (1900-1976), a National Socialist Party politician, who during World War II joined a military organization for officers Defence of Nation which was part of broader antifascist resistance. In July 1940 Nestaval was arrested by the Gestapo.
In March 1942 he was sentenced to life imprisonment althought prosecutor requested the death penalty. He was sentenced to the same penalty in July 1950 in connection with the political trial of Milada Horakova.
He was released in November 1963.
