Abstract
Prof. Vavrda was founder and former teacher at the new Medical Faculty of Charles University established in Hradec Králové.He was born on 24.7.1898 at village Štoky close to Jihlava.
He entered high school in Tábor, but he graduated in 1916 in Prague. After his high school graduation he spent few years like Italian front-line soldier, where he was also hold captive.
After homecoming he started to study medicin in Prague,later on he changed for Comenius University in Bratislava, where he took a degree on 1.7.1926.
