The paper was devoted to two contemporary prosaic works, each reflecting the question of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army: Oksana Zabuzhko’s family saga The Museum of Abandoned Secrets and Maria Matios’ novel-drama Sweet Darusya. The paper studied the difference in treating the topic: it pointed out the Zabuzhko’s distinct constructionist approach versus the spontaneity of Matios’ novel, it traced the different ideological background of the works, their centralization-decentralization, the category of “polyphony” and “monophony”, it followed the novels’ emotionality, their philosophical subtext and the type of the auctorial voice.
