Abstract

The article explains the pathogenesis of disturbances in branched-chain amino acid metabolism (BCAA, valine, leucine, and isoleucine) and protein metabolism in various forms of liver injury and suggests three targest of BCAA supplementation: hepatic encephalopathy, liver regeneration, and hepatic cachexia.
