Spectroscopic Study of Magnesium Effect on Stability of RNA and DNA Triple Strand Polynucleotide

Abstract

Stability and temperature induced changes of homopolynucleotide RNA (polyA-polyU) and DNA (polydA-polyT) duplexes and triplexes (polyU-polyA-polyU, polyT-polydA-polyT) were studied at various magnesium concentrations by means of Raman spectroscopy.
