Abstract

In this book is presented an anthropological analysis of the evolution of culture and art in matutinal phases of Upper Paleolithic. The key cathegory, allowing synthetic and interdisciplinary interpretation of surveyed theme, is term culture in anthropological meaning.

The Upper Paleolithic Culture is researched as a unique superbiological system of artefacts, socio-cultural rules and ideas, which people use to adapt to their exterior environment. Authors of this book aimed their sight on both Upper Paleolithic technologies and industries but also to the symbolic basis of culture, which is analyzed through extant pieces of art.
