The Prologue of the Gospel of John (Joh 1:1–18). Notes on the interpretion and translation

Abstract

The study deals firstly with the issue of the relationship of the prologue to the rest of the gospel, approaching this problem from the proposed understanding of its structure. This is followed by a consecutive exposition of the metaphorical language of the hymn, while the exegetical background of recent Czech Bible translations is examined.
