Abstract
Conflict prevention as an explicit and more substantially conceptualised concern of international cooperation and of international organisations emerged in the 1990s. Even though there is no prevalent and consensual definition of conflict prevention, there is the general understanding of it as attempts to solve conflicts before they grow into violent confrontation.
