Abstract

When the Czechs overthrew the hated communist regime in November and December 1989, they were driven by one dream which, only a few months before, seemed to be completely utopian: they wanted to become a normal Western country. Whether they read F.

Fukuyama or not, they thought that the liberal democracy of Western style is the end of history. Twenty years after, the dream is killed and history is opened again.
