Abstract
In project „Sociological research into the historical consciousness of inhabitants of the Czech Republic” we are trying to open a new perspective on issues of relation of people to the history and to explore their ideas about the past. The key term is becoming a notion of historical consciousness, which we conceptually distinguish from the collective memory.
