Abstract
In this paper, the author picks up a theme from his earlier book, The Ignorant Schoolmaster. He attacks various implicit types of domination present in the discourses on the function of images and the role of spectatorship.
The author blames the many iconoclastic currents form misunderstanding the emancipatory potential of "passive" spectatorship.
