The school as a specific world of work

Abstract

The paper reflects school from a perspective of teachers´ profession and introduces this institution as a specific world of work where various activities are conducted within a complicated network of social relationship, educational and socialization processes while this world also has to react to overall social changes. The teachers´profession thus requires different professional skills.

Thein competences consist of occupational skills, didactic skills, assessment skills and social skills. Above all social skills curently represent a crucial part of professional skill in the currently changing world of school.
