Abstract
This text is dedicated to the indication of praise communicative functions (communicative function is Czech term for speech act) in a concrete language material and this analyzed material includes Czech newspapers dialogues. In first part of this work the author summaries default definition of praise communicative function and tries to formulate his own definition and classification of praise communicative function.
Left parts concern concrete realizations of praise communicative function, author dedicate a special space indicating of self-praise (untypical kind of praise communicative function). Analyzed realizations of praise communicative functions in language material show larger number of ways to realization and using language devices than we can find in works of Czech authors inquired in communication functions (confronted with the ways so far described in work of Miroslav Grepl who occupied himself with problematic of indication of communicative functions).
