Brownfields and their recovery are in developed countries considered as a complex process of changes throughout the whole society and country. Program does not cover only the variety of the social, economical and ecological aspects, but also the general appearance and the area management.
The main goal of the sociological inquiry is to determine the perception of the brown-fields in the South Bohemia region. The investigation was carried out through the management interviews and the standardized questionnaire applied in the four groups of respondents.
The results show different perceptions of the brownfields as an investment opportunity within the group of business entities, local residents or selected NGOs. Nevertheless for all inquired groups the brown-fields are considered as a negative element of the region.
