Abstract

The article deals with the life story of Count Franz-Dohalsky Borek, who joined the First Republic of diplomacy. He worked mainly in London and Vienna, where he became the first ambassador to Czechoslovakia after the Second World War.

His life deeply marked by two totalitarian. During the Nazi occupation, he spent three years in the Dachau concentration camp.

His two brothers survived the war. The communist regime eventually imprisoned his only son George.
