The article focuses on the issue of ongoing evaluation of fitness training in full-contact sports, using Thai boxing as an example. The contemporary concept of these sports shows that technical preparedness has the same significance as fitness.
In this work we propose a pilot battery of tests focused on assessing physical fitness factors in Thai boxing. We summarise the results of pilot testing on a group of ten Thai boxers, which took place a total of four times as part of ATC 2008.
The assessment of the test battery showed average statistically significant (p<0.03) improvement in test results over the course of the ATC.
