Sufism as an inspiration for contemporary culture: Fethullah Gülen and his movement

Abstract

In this article the author focuses on Gülen movement, i.e. one of the contemporary movements inspired by the legacy of medieval Sufism, especially by religious humanism of J. Rumi.

After a short summary of the main teachings of sufism, the founder of the movement Fethullah Gülen is introduced and his main ideas, activities and initiatives described and analyzed.
