The paper deals with one of the most „prominent“ representatives of the Nazi racial hygiene with links to the Czech lands, namely Lothar Tirala. Originally a gynaecologist in Brno, in 1933 he became full professor and director of the Institute for racial Hygine in Munich.
The reasons for his appointment were not his academic qualifications but the pressure of political circles. Despite their influence he had to leave his university position already in 1936.
