Use of ultra high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry to demonstrate decreased serum statin levels after extracorporeal LDL-cholesterol elimination

Abstract

The work identifies the mechanism underlying the drop of statins after LDL-cholesterol elimination. A specific loss of statins was found in adsorbent capsules and filters, especially during hemorheopheresis.
