3,5-Disubstituted pyranones analogous to highly antifungally active furanones: conversion of biological effect from antifungal to cytostatic

Abstract

A series of 3-aryl-5acyloxymethyl-5,6-dihydropyran-2-ones related to 3,5-disubstituted furanones with high antifungal effect was prepared, and the comppounds evaluated for antifungal and cytotatic activity.
