RANK/RANKL expression is induced by cardiac surgical operation

Abstract

The changes in the expression of RANK/RANKL on monocytes in patients undergoing cardiac surgical operation were followed by flow cytometry. The expression of both RANK and RANKL is significantly enhanced in "miniinvasive" on-pump cardiac patients.
