Abstract

Biomechanical response of head during impact loading presents a globally accented issue associated mainly with the passive vehicle safety. Based on detection of the dynamic values and biomaterial characteristics during the head impact loading are we able to observe the biomechanical response of biological structures to the loading.

We have used mathematical and physical models for the computational tasks of inverse dynamics that allow us to solve interactional biomechanical conditions in both real and extrapolated extremely-loading situations. Based on changes of input mechanical loading we have been able to determine appropriate biomechanical reaction and specify the value of the HIC which can be approximately correlated to the AIS using a table.

Gathered knowledge can be applied to all the situations when a head hits an obstacle. The mechanisms relate well to the “injury” issues during both work and free time activities like transportation, sports etc.
