Abstract
The article discusses some less known aspects of the imperial cult in the Danube provinces. On the example of Dacia it shows that the cult developed also in its non-official character: the worship of the Emperor''s Genius and of Numen Aug./Augg. on inscriptions of vota pro salute imperatoris type; the inscriptions of the type devotus maiestati numini que eius and in honorem domus divinae.
The cult of the Augustian gods, personified virtues and abstract ideas had a very limited character there. The presence of the syncretic gods on the Dacian inscriptions is a proof of an ethnic and cultural variety of the inhabitants (Dacian origin is missing).
The most of the inscriptions was dedicated by members of the local civil and military elite.
