Abstract

This paper deals with the measurement of an electromyography record of surface tension of selected muscles during athletic running. We measured sprint before and after special running exercises individually in a sequence which is commonly used to improve athletic sprint.

We measured on a thirty-metre-long leg. Together with the measurement of surface tension of muscles the movement was also recorded on a synchronised video recording from a sideway camcorder.

The aim of the paper was to describe how individual muscles participate in the mentioned moves and if there is any change of the surface tension in the muscles during sprint after performing special running exercises. A major fatigue factor will appear on the results.

The analysis confirmed the nonsubsitutable role of special running exercises in the sprinter´s traning. We should be very careful using the quantity of special trainig exercises.
